Jotron announces executive leadership changes

Jotron, a global leader in communication technology for land, sea, and air applications, today announced the appointment of Rune Kristiansen as new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Effective September 1, Rune Kristiansen succeeds Merete Berdal as CEO. Merete has been with Jotron since 1986 and has served as CEO since 2014, leading the company through a period of significant growth and international expansion. Merete will assume the position of Chair of the Board, succeeding Bjørn Walle, who has held the role since 2014. She will also take on an operational role focusing on the continued development and support of the organization and its employees. 

Rune Kristiansen has led Jotron’s ATC & Coastal Division since 2014. He brings extensive leadership experience from senior positions at Airbus Defence and Space, Vizada Networks, and Telenor Satellite Services. Rune holds a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Leeds. Kjetil Visnes Gjone, who joined Jotron in 2019, will take over from Rune Kristiansen as Director of the ATC & Coastal Division.
