Jotron Ricochet to record air traffic across the North Atlantic
Jotron, a global leader in communication technology for land, sea, and air applications, has been awarded a public tender to supply and install its advanced voice, screen, and radar recording system across the Azores, a Portuguese archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean. The contract, awarded through NAV Portugal, will strengthen air traffic management capabilities to support safe, efficient operations in one of the world’s most strategically important airspaces.

Integrated voice, screen, and radar recording
Jotron will replace the existing recorder systems installed at the Oceanic Center, as well as those in towers across the Azores Islands, delivering advanced voice, screen, and radar recording for air traffic control operations. Ricochet is Jotron’s market leading recording and replay system, designed for air traffic management and fully compliant with international standards. A total of 149 screens, along with more than 500 audio channels and radar data, will be recorded, providing a complete and synchronized operational overview. The turnkey solution is scheduled for installation and will be fully operational across the Azores by spring 2027.
