For 25 years, UAB Jotron has been a cornerstone of Jotron's manufacturing operations. What started with just a handful of employees in Kaunas has grown into a highly skilled, state-of-the-art production facility serving customers around the world. As the company celebrates its 25th anniversary, we look back on an extraordinary journey of growth, innovation, and people.

A vision that began in Kaunas

At the end of the 1990s, Jotron faced a challenge familiar to many growing companies: strong demand but increasing production costs. Looking for opportunities to strengthen its manufacturing capabilities, Jotron explored possibilities in Lithuania through a regional cooperation initiative between Vestfold County in Norway and the Kaunas region.

The first steps were cautious. A successful test production at a local electronics company demonstrated both the competence and potential available in Kaunas. Encouraged by the results, Jotron established UAB Jotron in 2001 and began building what would eventually become the company's primary manufacturing center.

With only a few employees and modest facilities, the focus was clear from the start: grow steadily, invest in people, and build a culture based on quality and long-term thinking.

The building was officially opened in November 2001. The Jotron sign went up just a few hours before guests were scheduled to arrive for the opening ceremony.

Building competence, technology, and trust

The early years were marked by determination and continuous learning. Training programs, investments in advanced manufacturing equipment, and a commitment to quality quickly transformed the operation.

From basic assembly work, UAB Jotron expanded to become a complete electronics manufacturing operation capable of producing and testing some of Jotron's most advanced products. New automated production lines, increasing technical competence, and expanding responsibilities helped position the company as a key part of Jotron's global success.

A significant milestone came in 2008, when products manufactured in Lithuania received approvals from both Japan Radio Company (JRC) and Japanese authorities, demonstrating the high standards achieved by the team in Kaunas.

More than a factory

As the company grew, so did its commitment to building a strong workplace culture.

Jotron brought its Scandinavian values into the organization, focusing on collaboration, respect, professional development, and employee well-being. Over time, this foundation helped create a stable and highly competent workforce that remains one of the company's greatest strengths today.

Beyond manufacturing, UAB Jotron has also been an active contributor to the local community, including long-term support for a children's home in the Kaunas area. This commitment reflects the company's belief that success is about creating value both inside and outside the workplace.

From seven employees to more than 100

What began in 2001 with a small team has developed into a modern manufacturing operation employing 120 talented professionals.

Today, UAB Jotron produces electronic modules and a wide range of maritime safety and air traffic communication products that are delivered to customers across the globe.

The company now operates from modern facilities designed for continued growth and innovation. Through advanced manufacturing technologies, standardized processes, and a deeply rooted quality culture, UAB Jotron plays a critical role in supporting Jotron's global operations.

Leadership changes

Almante Medžiaušiene has been part of the UAB Jotron journey from the very beginning. She met Jotron representatives during their first exploratory visits to Lithuania. Almante has played a key role in shaping UAB Jotron's development, guiding the company through periods of growth, modernization, and increasing international responsibility. In August 2026, she stepped into a new role as Quality Director, passing the leadership baton to a new generation.

Reflecting on the company's journey, Almante said: “25 years have been a remarkable journey of growth, change, and achievements made possible by our people. Proud of our story and confident in our future, we look forward to continuing this journey together.”

As of August 2026, Aurelija Siniauskienė serves as Managing Director of UAB Jotron, leading the company into its next phase of development while building on the strong foundation created over the past quarter century. Aurelija said: “Looking back on 25 years of UAB Jotron, the greatest success is not how much we have grown, but how we have grown: together. We are grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey and to those who built the strong foundation we stand today. The same values that brought us here will continue to guide us as we shape the next chapter of UAB Jotron.”
